Kedrodasos – the wild side of Crete
Private tour on request. Tell us the date you're interested in and we'll check if it's available.
About the tour
Come with us to a place that's the complete opposite of a busy resort. Kedrodasos, which roughly means “cedar forest”, is one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches on the island. Just a stone's throw from famous Elafonisi, it also has white sand and turquoise water – but without the crowds, sun loungers or loud music.
It's a paradise for nature lovers. The beach is surrounded by an ancient forest of junipers and cedars that create an incredible, wild landscape. If you want to escape mass tourism for a while, feel soft sand under your feet and swim in crystal-clear water in complete peace, Kedrodasos will steal your heart.
The real Crete: honey, wine and a shared feast
Once we've enjoyed the beach, we'll take you to where the heart of the island beats. We stop at a local stall run by people who have been making the best produce for generations. You'll taste thyme honey, which many consider the best in the world, and real, unfiltered olive oil – Crete's healthiest treasure. These aren't supermarket products, this is pure nature.
The most important part of the day, though, is the shared meal. We stop at a traditional taverna to enjoy authentic food together at one table, without rushing. It's time for conversation, laughter and dishes whose recipes haven't changed for years. Along the way we also visit a wine museum, where you'll taste award-winning local varieties, and a workshop where artists create unique items from olive wood.
