About the tour
Join us on a private trip to a place that regularly appears in rankings of the world's most beautiful beaches. Elafonisi isn't just a beach – it's a unique nature reserve where the blue of the lagoon blends with pastel pink sand. There's something magical about it, especially when you explore it in a small group, without rushing and without the crowds that usually pour out of big coaches.
Our route follows the scenic, winding roads of the west coast, with views that are worth the trip on their own. But the best part isn't just by the sea – it's also on the trail of Cretan flavours.
The real Crete: honey, wine and a shared feast
Once we've enjoyed the sun and a swim in the shallow, warm lagoon, we'll take you inland to show you the Crete we know and love. We stop at a local stall where you'll taste real treasures: aromatic thyme honey and thick, unfiltered olive oil that tastes of sunshine. This is where you'll find out why the Cretan diet is considered the healthiest in the world.
The highlight of the day is a shared meal at a traditional family taverna. We sit down together to try authentic dishes made with local ingredients in a relaxed atmosphere. It's not just lunch – it's time to eat together, talk and celebrate life “siga-siga” style. We finish the day with a visit to a wine museum, where you'll learn about local winemaking and taste award-winning wines, and to craftspeople who turn dead olive wood into real works of art.
