Imbros Gorge and a swim in the Libyan Sea
About the tour
Difficulty: 1–2 (easy)
Duration: full day (approx. 9–10 hours)
Imbros Gorge, in the south-eastern part of the White Mountains, is 7 km of pure nature with walls up to 300 metres high. It's known for rare plants and views that stay with you for a long time.
We start in the traditional Cretan village of Imbros (800 m above sea level) and finish in the village of Komitades (300 m). The bus picks you up from your hotel and after about 90 minutes you reach the start. A licensed mountain guide leads you through the gorge, keeping you safe and sharing interesting facts about the area. After the hike it's time for Frangokastello – a chance to relax by the sea and free time for lunch! In the late afternoon the bus takes you right back to your hotel.
